Day 7 Freedom Blog Challenge – Procrastination Is Not Your Friend

Leah Mustoe Challenges

Procrastination - something we all do at some stage (if not a lot)...

You know what I mean - when you need to get something done, but you do everything BUT that one thing.

It's avoidance with a vengeance!

You'll literally avoid it at all costs.

I've been guilty of this so much, not just in my business either...

Sometimes, I'll do anything to NOT do the dishes, or NOT do a workout or NOT go food shopping (yuk, I hate food shopping).

But I end up spending more wasted time & energy avoiding it, than if I'd actually just got on & done it in the first place...

I think it is to do with overwhelm as well.

We get overwhelmed with all the tasks we have to do on a daily basis & by avoiding them, it's kinda like a coping mechanism!

But really, putting things off all the time means we aren't taking any action.

It's all about taking ACTION!

We can't move forward, push ourselves or strive for bigger success if we aren't taking any action.

There's that famous saying we've all heard:

"Imperfect Action Is Better Than Perfect Inaction"  ~ Harry S. Truman ~

We really don't have to do everything perfectly at all...

We just need to get it done & improve it later on!

I know many of us are such perfectionists (I know I am), but trying to perfect everything all the time only stops us achieving our hopes, dreams & desires.

You can't improve something that hasn't be done in the first place.

So For This Fine Tuesday Challenge...

I need to pick one imperfect action that I can do everyday, that will move me closer to the life I envision for myself within my freedom lifestyle.

It can be anything.

It doesn't have to be business related...

Just something that I can continue on for say the next 30 days & it will move me closer to my freedom lifestyle.

I always find it hard to pick one thing, as I usually have a number of things I want to do that will help me get from point A to point B!

But as I have to pick one for this challenge, I'm going to pick two lol...

I'm going to pick something that I know will move my business forward & something that will help me personally - and I'm gonna stick to them.

You see doing this blog challenge is something I decided to do & hold myself accountable, for me to get back into writing again - as I let myself slip away (into the coach watching TV, just like that guy you can see).

I'm going to start with the business one first.

Business!

I'm going to make sure I create some kind of content everyday.

Whether it be a blog post, an email for my subscribers, a video, an audio, a freebie short course or report...

... I'm going to darn well make sure I create something awesome to help people every day.

This will not only help me mentally & keep me on track with content creation (so I never get stuck or fall short of having something to hand), it will also keep me focused on steering my business in the right direction (via content marketing).

I've always been about giving value first.

It really is important to me that I give as much value as I can & be helping people along the way.

Now onto the pleasure side of things...

Pleasure!

When it comes to the personal side of things, I really want to do something for ME daily, that will help me emotionally & keep me grounded.

So I've decided I want to have a bath every evening.

I know it sounds like a bit of a ridiculous thing, but baths are soooooo relaxing & help me unwind & I know it will help me to reset my mind ready for some work in the evening (I knew I would tie the personal in with the business somewhere lol).

Save

haha I love this frog in a bath pic!

I've always been a quick in the shower kinda gal (that sounds super dodgy - sorry I didn't mean it too).

With everything going on in my house all the time with the kids & my husband...

... it's hard to find the time to do something for me, which takes longer than having a quick cuppa!

So I am going to 100% make sure I have a bath every evening, well, from now on until forever... or at least until I get fed up with them.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, because...

Day 7's challenge is now done & dusted...

Just three to go!

Have an awesome day & I'll see you tomorrow 🙂
